Are you a tech-savvy trainer passionate about maximizing productivity and digital literacy? Tohono O’odham Community College (TOCC) is seeking a highly skilled Office 365 Trainer to develop and deliver dynamic training programs on Microsoft 365 tools and services. This vital role, reporting to the Chair of Workforce & Community Development, will enhance individual proficiency and ensure high-quality, consistent instruction across the Tohono O’odham Nation. This position is time-limited (grant funded) full-time, non-exempt.

Hourly Hiring Rate: $23.00 - $25.00 an hour

What You'll Do:

You will be the primary source of expertise, enhancing the digital skills of students and the workforce across the community. Your essential duties include:

  • Develop, update, and customize training materials—including presentations, guides, hands-on exercises, manuals, and video tutorials—tailored to specific needs of various entities (tribal, healthcare, finance, education, etc.).
  • Conduct engaging, in-person, and online sessions (including live virtual sessions weekly) for beginner to advanced users. Provide instruction in core M365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and Collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive).
  • Teach Adult Education Applications such as Aztec, CASA’s, IXL, and MyGED.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver Trainer-led sessions at all 11 Tohono O’odham District locations. Maintain classroom and equipment readiness.
  • Evaluate learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and administer midphase academic advising forms for all students. Maintain accurate record-keeping for progress, attendance, and completion rates.
  • Identify different student learning styles and adjust teaching methods accordingly. Integrate features of Canvas (announcements, discussions, quizzes, videos, gradebook) into the learning environment.

What You'll Bring:

We seek a professional with strong technical expertise, excellent instructional skills, and the ability to work effectively across diverse learning environments.

Required Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of instructional experience in Microsoft Office or technology training.
  • Six months of experience in computer software and hardware.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Office 365 applications, including Excel formulas, functions, data analysis, Access (database design and queries), and program integration.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and have or be able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification.
  • Experience in training computer applications and teaching adults in computer literacy/adult education courses.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the history and contemporary issues facing Native people.
  • Ability to speak and understand O’odham and/or Spanish.

 

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • This is a Time-limited (grant funded), Full-time, Non-Exempt position. Typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend shifts may be required.
  • Ability to travel to district meetings, seminars, and training sites.
  • Work is classified as Sedentary work, involving sitting most of the time and exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions (activities occur inside and outside) and extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour, on occasion).
  • Requires close visual acuity for activities like viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, and preparing and analyzing data and figures.
