Job Summary:
All full-time faculty members have a responsibility to the institution and their respective departments through scholarship, community service and teaching.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for teaching Mental Health classes in the BA degree program plus occasional graduate level courses.
Thorough preparation for teaching load. Teaching load should be 15 hours, unless other arrangements are negotiated with Sinte Gleska University.
Full time Faculty need to schedule 15 hours in office per week.
Sufficient time spent toward keeping current in area of expertise.
Faculty should expect to provide service to the institution and the community through
committee work, departmental responsibilities and work as identified and needed in the
community.
Academic advisement and carry out registration duties.
Serve on various committees.
Serve as mental health provider for the intuitions EAP/SAP.
Organizing EAP/SAP.
Maintenance of records.
Liaison with administration.
Initiate intake.
Clinical services.
Consultation with other team members.
Other duties assigned in the performance of his/her responsibilities and as mutually agreed upon to the benefit of Sinte Gleska University.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Responsible person with a minimum of a Master's degree, a Doctoral Degree, Ph. D or Ed. degree would be preferably in the areas of Mental Health Counseling, Human Services, Psychology, Social Services, with an emphasis on clinical skills, research skills and teaching experience are helpful.
Current professional licensure is desirable (or eligibility for licensure).
Familiarity with Native American culture and experience working with Native Americans and minority clients and students.
