General Summary:
Financial Assistance Advocate provide students and delinquent borrowers with financial information on deferments, forbearance, consolidation and financial literacy and assist with obtaining financial assistance from direct loan services provided by the Department of Education Federal Direct Student Loan to bring loan(s) to a current payment status. Maintain office procedures in accordance with Federal rules and regulations and track delinquent students.
Key Responsibilities:
· Understanding of financial aid requirement, rules and regulations, policies and procedures of FAFSA (PELL) and Direct Student Loan.
· Determine if students are in default.
· Assist students with financial literacy.
· Provide role modeling to students and maintain professional working relationships.
· Other duties as assigned.
