RCR is located on and serves the Pine Ridge Reservation. We are a perpetually Native-led nonprofit organization.
Looking for an individual who meets the following criteria:
Lives within Pine Ridge area (or in Rapid City area)
Lakota culture practicing and Native American awareness
Loves to make a positive impact in the world
We primarily focus on training opportunities and workforce development for Native Americans in renewables, weatherization, and energy-efficient housing.

Researching, organizing, writing, and managing grants that serve our mission.
Mission: Improving Native lives through education, inspiration, and action in solar, weatherization, and sustainable home building.
Wages: $18-$20/hour
Daily tasks and responsibilities will be determined by the Managing Director and the person will be proactive and self-guided in their position. The person must be reactive and responsive to demands and able to pivot within the organization.
Aims include, but are not limited to, the following:
Identify, cultivate, and steward funding opportunities from additional funders, including private foundations, corporations, public and government agencies.
Prepare, write, submit, and track grant proposals and stewardship materials including reporting deliverables and stewardship materials for these funders.
Collaborating with Red Cloud Renewable leadership and program departments on overall funding strategies, including the implementation of RCR’s strategic plan, general support and capital needs during a time of rapid growth and high stakes expectations.
Expectations for this position:
Create funding calendar based on the needs
Maintain a database of all fundraising/grant materials
Build an on-going library of grants that are organized and prioritized (type, geography, deadlines, etc.) within a digital repository
Include the staff members when developing grants
Use fundraising support software
Write standard grant boilerplate language that can be easily understood and inserted into grant applications; includes LOIs (for each pillar)
Create and run a capital campaign
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree preferred
Previous experience in related position
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
Experience with technologies and software for fundraising/grant writing
Consistent, quality work and deliverables under position title
Regular and professional communication with all levels of management
Time-management skills
Organized and highly motivated
Able to create multiple timelines, budgets, and schedule
Excellent team building and management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
