Sinte Gleska University (SGU) is one of the preeminent tribal colleges in the nation.  SGU offers certificate progams, AA degrees, Bachelors and Masters degrees.  SGU is in its 52nd year of operating as an institution of post-secondary education, serving the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in south-central South Dakota. Sinte Gleska is one of the oldest tribal colleges in the nation, and was the first tribal college to offer the Bachelors and Masters degrees. SGU is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and has teacher education programs and nursing programs that are credentialed by state boards.  Within the last 2 years, the college has become approved for distance education.  The mission of Sinte Gleska University is:
