Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a unit of the National Park Service. Situated on the western shores of Lake Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes offers recreational, educational, and inspirational activities. The park is named after the Anishinaabe story of the sleeping bears.
