• Provide programmatic and theoretical direction, oversight, and promotion for student service; • Supervise an area of two full-time residential life coordinators, four full-time assistant residential life coordinators, 72 student peer advisors, and 3,300 non-first year residents; • Perform supervisory responsibilities in a manner consistent with departmental, institutional, and legal expectations; • Provide individualized professional development to supervisees including ongoing feedback and coaching; • Provide ongoing communication on performance to direct supervisees including informal communication and formal communication in accordance with human resources protocol; • Meet regularly with residential life coordinators for personal and professional development and ensure ongoing communication; • Ensure supervisees within area are abiding by departmental, institutional, and legal expectations; • Ensure University and department conduct processes abide by established standards including assigning cases to staff, provide guidance, feedback, and follow up to staff, reporting to outside stakeholders when appropriate, and adjudicate repeat offenses; • Serve as area liaison with Housing Operations, Housing Administration, Residential Camps & Conference Services, Living Learning Communities, and Business Operations; • Oversee and provide direction for area programmatic efforts; • Chair and oversee professional staff training efforts for department including developing and delivering training schedules and seminars, assessment using learning outcomes and professional competencies, and other logistical tasks for fall and spring processes; • Participate in departmental assessment initiatives including assisting the student affairs student engagement project, monitoring activities of program personnel in carrying out learning outcomes, and promoting ongoing assessment initiatives; • Participate in the Peer Advisor training serving 154 peer advisors which includes developing and delivering training seminars and providing guidance to staff on in-area and seminar work for fall, summer, and spring processes; • Participate in the Peer Advisor selection process for 154 peer advisor positions including reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, and providing guidance to staff on selection; • Counsel and advise students on an as needed basis; • Participate in leadership on-call duty rotation; • Serve as a campus security authority under the Clery Act; • Serve as a responsible employee under Title IX; and • Other duties as assigned.
