SFIS is owned and operated by the nineteen Pueblos of New Mexico.  SFIS strives to represent and support core values that our tribes have identified.  These core values define who we are as tribal people and represent what we believe to be our ideals.

The Supervisory School Nurse will collaborate with educational staff in providing leadership in the management of a coordinated school health program consistent with BIE CFR regulations, BIA Indian Affairs and regulations and statues governing nursing and school health.  The Supervisory School nurse will supervise the health center staff. The Supervisory School Nurse will provide delegation and direction for specific nursing activities to certified School Health Assistants in Academic and Dorm programs. The Supervisory School Nurse collaborates with other professionals, team members, and community providers in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programs and other school health activities in order to maximize and coordinate services. Using the nursing process, the Supervisory School Nurse provides leadership in the planning and implementation of health care to improve the educational success of students. The Supervisory School Nurse will provide direct patient care up to but not to exceed 20 hours per week.
