Job Description



The Career Readiness Coach (CRC) manages the development of career readiness programming with the Career Readiness Pathways Senior Program Manager, Student Success Services and external partners to further departmental goals. Career readiness programming will focus on enhancing skills of Native students to explore, develop and thrive in setting and meeting personal and professional goals. Programming will provide place-based and experiential education strategies to increase student’s capacity to be employable.   


Responsibilities of the CRC will include all aspects of program designed, implementation, management and evaluation.  The CRC will also collaborate with department and inter-departmental teammates to meet organization goals and objectives.  Further, the CRC will assist in establishing a tracking and monitoring system and in building a network of relationships to aid in the support of students through their educational and professional journey.


Essential Job Functions


  1. Develop and implement career readiness programming to demonstrate and meet department goals
  2. Develop and implement a successful strategy to assist in coaching students to employability
  3. Build network among tribal colleges and universities, mainstream higher education institutions, tribal communities and employers
  4. Stay current and up to date on latest trends involving career readiness, planning, development and experiential education in and out of Native higher education and communities
  5. Work in a team environment and assist other team members in meeting departmental and organization goals and objectives
  6. Manage tasks and activities that consistently follow the company standards for timely outreach and communication to students and program partners.
  7. Track, monitor, evaluate and report on programming progress and outcomes


Job Requirements



    • Proficient IT skills particularly with databases and Microsoft Office products
    • Demonstrated initiative and creativity in program development

    • Ability to manage numerous tasks and/or projects at one time
    • Attention to and tolerance for detail

    • Proven ability to accomplish defined goals and objectives
    • Experience presenting for small and large groups
    • Willingness to travel during certain periods



Education/Experience/Certification Requirements


  • BA Degree
  • Experience working with AIAN or underserved population college students and communities

Preferred Qualifications


  • MA in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or related field and/or four years of work experience in an education related setting
  • Involvement and/or experience with career readiness and planning process
  • Two years of experience working in a field related to career readiness or planning
