This position is part of the Division of Transportation Systems Development – Administrator’s Office Management Team, responsible for implementing the Governors Executive Order 39 and the FHWA/WisDOT Tribal Partnership Agreement. This position serves as the Statewide Tribal Program Manager whose primary focus is to administer complex specialized modal/transportation program on a statewide level. Responsibilities also include managing the division's Tribal Affairs Group, overseeing staff responsible for providing tribal program management, coordination and support.
This position administers all tribal affairs program areas within the Administrator’s Office which include: tribal economic development, labor and business programs, cultural/environmental programs, tribal internship program, tribal safety programs, and WisDOT/FHWA Partnership Agreement and general consultation, under the supervision of the Deputy Administrator – Regions. This also includes WisDOT agency-wide assessments and reporting to executive level staff and other agencies, as required.
This position maximizes WisDOT’s tribal efforts and initiatives by facilitating the mutual exchange of information, drafting policy refinements, leveraging resources and developing linkages with existing and emerging resources concerning tribal livability and transportation.
