Salary Hiring Range: $60,350 - $75,650.
What you will do:
You will be responsible for negotiating and purchasing goods and services for the college, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. Your primary duties will include:
- Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Analyzing costs, obtaining goods at the best possible prices, and negotiating terms and delivery options.
- Managing supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Ensuring all procurement activities comply with college purchasing policies.
- Maintaining accurate records of purchases, expenses, and inventory, and preparing necessary reports.
- Working with internal college staff to understand their needs and aligning procurement activities with the overall objectives of the college.
- Planning and booking travel on an as-needed basis.

Requirements
What you will bring
- Basic knowledge of supply chain management principles, and a good overall working knowledge of college budgets and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities, and the ability to handle a diverse range of tasks on a timely basis.
- Exemplary customer service skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work well with a diverse student body.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Word processing and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Google Drive documents and the ability to learn the Jenzabar data management system or possess expertise with a similar system.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist and;
- Two years of related experience, preferably in higher education.
- A valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- The ability to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to speak and understand the O’odham and/or Spanish languages.
- Knowledge and understanding of the history and contemporary issues facing Native people.
Work Environment & Schedule:
This is a full-time, Non Exempt position in the Finance Department. The work environment is indoors and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions, typical of office or administrative work.
The position is generally classified as Sedentary work, involving sitting most of the time. You will occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force and require close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
