CMOW faculty may teach in one or more of the following maritime operational level of warfare courses: Maritime Staff Operators Course, Maritime Headquarters Staff Course, International Maritime Staff Operators Course, Executive Level Operational Level of War Course, Maritime Operational Planners Course, the Combined Force Maritime Component Commanders Course, and the Joint Force Maritime Component Commanders Course. Faculty also provide direct support to U.S. Navy fleet headquarters’ staffs in crisis and during routine exercises and operations through the Operations and Assist and Assess teams. Duties include support for maritime-focused operational level of war education and assistance requested by Joint partners, educational institutions, and Fleet commands, including assistance with their work with international partners. The incumbent will work on a team that includes civilian faculty, active-duty military officers, government civilians, and contractors. This position requires travel to fleet locations across the globe and the ability to reside, at times, on board U.S. Navy ships that are either in port or underway.
