Job Description

Job Summary:

 In the role of Administrative Assistant in the Arts & Science Department, the candidate will provide administrative support, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication. Duties & Responsibilities:

 Ø  Receptionist for Science Center Building. Answer and direct calls for the Arts & Science Department. Must demonstrate proper phone etiquette.

Ø  Pick up and deliver department mail to/from Administration Building on a daily basis or as needed.

Ø  Serves as key operator for copy machines, and daily operations of office equipment. Contacts service representative as needed. Assists with copying as requested.

Ø  Manage/order supplies for the Arts & Science department.

Ø  Organizes and updates bulletin boards in Science Center building.

Ø  Responsible for monitoring and assisting with the computer lab.

Ø  Other related duties as assigned in the performance of his/her responsibilities and as mutually agreed upon to the benefit of Sinte Gleska University.

Qualifications & Experience: 

Ø  Responsible person with an AA degree in Secretarial Science or related field.

Ø  A high school diploma or GED certificate with five (5) years' experience would be considered.

Ø  Excellent computer skills, experience answering telephones and ability to operate a calculator, as well as excellent organizational skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty and the general public.

Ø  Individual must possess and perform duties in a timely manner with minimum supervision.

Ø  Individual must possess and perform duties in a timely manner with minimum supervision.

Ø  A Lakota speaker preferred.

Ø  Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Ø  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ø  Must be able to work cooperatively with faculty, students and staff in a team-oriented environment.

Ø  Individual must have reliable transportation
