Provide individualized college and career exploration and preparatory services to middle and high school students in one or more of the following schools: Arlee, Charlo, Hot Springs, Polson, Ronan, St. Ignatius, and Two Eagle River.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide college and career readiness mentorship to assist students in preparing for a collegiate and/or career path. Activities include but are not limited to academic assistance within the school setting, college and career exploration, guidance researching, selecting and applying for summer programs, postsecondary educational options, work-based learning positions, and scholarships. Mentors will lead experiential activities according to expertise and student interest, support portfolio projects, and complete record-keeping and related grant compliance requirements.
Associate degree and the ability to collaborate with students, school personnel, and community partners. Excellent writing, communication, computer, organizational, and time-management skills. Must successfully complete a background check (fingerprinting) due to working with minors and a pre-employment drug test. Must be willing to coordinate and lead overnight academic and work-based learning field experiences during the academic year and summer.
One year of experience organizing and leading college/career preparatory or similar programs with middle/ high school students; familiarity with college and career application processes.
