Job Description

Job Title:       Security Guard

Reports To:   Director of Student Life

Status:           Full-time/ Regular/ Non-Exempt

Salary:           $17.00 an hour

SUMMARY: Monitor the security of Tohono O’odham Community College property from theft and vandalism. Report breaches of security to the proper authorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Patrol the campus hourly via motor vehicle or on foot to deter vandalism, theft, and unauthorized entry or use of the facilities;
  • Secure all unlocked doors, windows, and gates;
  • Respond to emergency situations when needed;
  • Insure all policies and procedures regarding security are fulfilled;
  • Coordinate security issues with law enforcement agencies;
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions;
  • Complete a daily log sheet of events;

  • Performs other duties of similar nature or level.

Requirements

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

 

Additional Consideration May Be Given To Individuals with the Following Qualifications:

  • Ability to speak and understand O’odham and/or Spanish.
  • Knowledge and understanding in the history and contemporary issues facing Native peoples.

 

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Arizona Driver’s license with no DUI's or major traffic offenses within the past year.
