The Board of Education of Lane Community College (LCC) invites nominations and applications for the position of President. LCC seeks a President with a deep commitment to our strong values of student success, academic excellence, diversity, equity, and innovation.
Lane Community College is fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Its 7-year visit was conducted in October 2021. The college manages an annual operating budget of approximately $100 million, and employs around 800 full and part-time faculty and staff to serve students and the community. A recently passed $121 million bond issue will allow the college to construct and renovate major campus facilities. LCC serves around 8,700 students each year through transfer, career-technical, and personal enrichment programs. Lane offers 89 degree and certificate programs (including transfer opportunities to local 4-year universities) across all campuses and education centers. Over half (55%) of Lane students are enrolled in transfer, with 45% enrolled in career/technical programs. More than 50% are first generation students, 54% are women, and 29% are students of color, with Latinx the largest ethnicity.
Lane Community College is recognized for academics, athletics, and student engagement. In addition to a comprehensive daytime schedule of classes, LCC offers distance learning courses and a suite of academic support options, many of which are available via remote access. The college also has one of the largest and most respected Nursing programs in the state of Oregon. LCC offers high quality, affordable transfer opportunities in a variety of academic majors, as well as a number of career technical options in programs such as Welding, Diesel Technology, and Flight/Aviation Maintenance.
Located in Eugene, Oregon, in the beautiful Willamette Valley and only 100 miles south of Portland, Lane Community College was established in 1964 when voters approved the establishment of a comprehensive community college. Lane serves a 4,600 square mile area through its main campus in Eugene and six centers located throughout the county. The college prioritizes the experience of both urban and rural students through remote instruction as well as small in-person classes and a vibrant and supportive campus environment. Since its establishment, the College has enjoyed exceptional community support.
