Job Description

Albion College invites applications for the Office Manager position. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. A member of the President’s office staff, reporting to the Project Manager in the President’s Office. The Office Manager works closely with the Chief of Staff and Project Manager to perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the Office of the President. The Office Manager works with all staff in the President’s Office suite and is fundamental in ensuring the President and Cabinet’s time and attention are used effectively. Promotes a positive image of the College by greeting and receiving visitors to the President’s office suite. The Office Manager will be responding to inquiries from a diverse array of College constituents (e.g. students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, legislators, media, public/private officials, donors), referring inquiries or problems to the appropriate department/person, and following up to determine the inquirer’s satisfaction with the response. 

Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. The Office Manager must demonstrate a willingness to embrace Albion College’s commitment to being an anti-racist institution. The Office Manager will actively promote diversity, belonging and equity through critical and compassionate communication and strategic outreach efforts to various students, faculty and staff (e.g., historically under-represented, first-generation, undocumented and DACA students, LGBTQ students).

Position Duration: 12 months per year

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position

  • Minimum of two years of high level clerical experience that demonstrates ability to thrive in a complex, detail-oriented, confidential, and fast-paced work environment
