Job Description

The University of Minnesota Morris seeks a specialist in Choral Conducting with an interest in teaching at a small, residential, liberal arts college that has been recognized nationally for its high academic quality. Doctorate in conducting or a related field preferred; ABDs or MA/MM/MMEs will be considered. Candidates with their doctorate by date of appointment will be appointed as lecturer/assistant professor, an ABD or MA/MM/MME will be appointed as teaching specialist. At least one year of college teaching experience is preferred. Evidence of excellence in teaching is essential. 

The responsibilities of this position include: leading the UMN Morris Concert Choir and small vocal ensembles; teaching courses in choral conducting and literature; teaching voice lessons; and offering other courses in music, such as arranging, diction, musicianship, vocal techniques, or an introductory course, consistent with the needs of the university and one's qualifications and experience.
