The University of Minnesota Morris seeks an assistant professor in Elementary Education, full-time, 9 month term position with potential for renewal, specializing in mathematics. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a Master’s degree (see below). Preferred candidates will have a doctoral degree in an appropriate field (ABD candidates will be considered). Additionally, candidates must have at least 3 years of teaching experience in the elementary grades in the area(s) of specialty. Candidates should be licensed or have been licensed in one or more of the core elementary content areas.
Responsibilities include teaching a variety of Elementary Education courses, including methods courses, in the K-6 Elementary Education teacher preparation program and providing clinical supervision in the field. Other responsibilities will depend upon the successful applicant’s specialization and may include teaching courses in Education, Secondary Education or the Division of Science and Mathematics. The successful candidate must be committed to the programmatic development of a small, rigorous, cohort-based elementary education program. Service/outreach to teacher education is essential; service to the university and community is desirable.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
