Job Description

Indiana State University (ISU) invites nominations and applications for the position of vice president for student affairs. The university seeks a student-centered, inclusive leader who brings a deep understanding of student development and best practices in student affairs, as well as a creative and entrepreneurial approach to supporting student success.

Reporting to the president of Indiana State University, the vice president is responsible for shaping, implementing and articulating a strategic vision for the Division of Student Affairs. The mission of the division is to support academic success, student retention and graduation by fostering an inclusive and equitable campus community which promotes educational programs, social activities, services, resources and advocacy. The vice president oversees a range of departments and services, including: Campus Life, Campus Recreation, the Charles E. Brown African American Cultural Center, the Dean of Students, Dining Services, Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Hulman Memorial Student Union, Multicultural Services and Programs, the Ombudsperson, Residential Life, Student Conduct and Integrity, the Student Counseling Center, Student Health Promotion, and the UAP Clinic / ISU Student Health Center. The vice president will play a key leadership role at ISU by: fostering authentic engagement and understanding student needs; advancing student success and development for ISU's student population; supporting diverse students and advancing an inclusive environment; shaping strategy and assessing outcomes; and encouraging community engagement by students.
